“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Rom. 10:15
December 2007--Bro. Allan
How about we look at Christmas 2007 a little differently? I don’t mean to take any of your excitement away, but just think. . . .
There are more than 150,000 American military personnel in the foreign lands of Afghanistan and Iraq this Christmas. There are thousands more around the world.
There are thousands of Christian missionaries in active duty sharing the good news of Jesus throughout the world. Many of them put their lives in as much jeopardy each day as do our military men and women in protecting our precious liberty and freedom.
Christmas this year just can’t be the same. We are a country at war with a vengeful and enraged enemy.
But the work of the soldier and the missionary are not that much unalike. Both, so far away from home, commit themselves and their futures to the hope that freedom, life, and beauty are gifts worth the gift of their lives if necessary.
Sounds like the Great Gift that God gave in order for us to know freedom from sin and guilt. Let’s be careful to celebrate the Christmas in honor of those who serve so valiantly in our place throughout the world.
God bless you as you serve Him!

"All things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive." Matt. 21:22
Last time we discussed this verse in terms of how Jesus expects us to engage in a loving, interactive relationship with Him that we call prayer and that delights the Lord.
Just how do you approach the Lord with the confidence of the verse above while submitting entirely to the example of Jesus when He prayed "not my will but thine"?
The confidence comes when you are in the Lord’s will! When His desires are yours - when sin disappears - when your joy is to see Him work through you! It is then when your prayers are strong, effective, and powerful.
It is then that you are in tune with God’s movement and the Spirit’s leadership that anything you ask of God, He provides. That is the walk of miracles, excitement, healing, and miracles.
May we see more of that kind of atmosphere in our lives and in our church. Instead of asking for things that we desire, let us look for God to change our desires to match His will for our lives and work together.
